During gameplay it is recommended that you place your iOS or Android device on a dry surface and within line of sight of the game play.
We have optimized the antenna on our product so that it has as long as possible range.
For instance in a ball throwing game, you can play hard and throw the ball very long, and it is important that the app detects this from as far as possible.
The experienced range depends on the following factors:
- line of sight
- water
Line of sight
You will get better range if there is no obstacles, such as buildings or bodies between your phone and the ball. If the ball and the phone "can see each other" the whole time, you have the best conditions.
Place the phone between the players and not on one of the players. You can double the range if you place the phone between players rather than at the place of one of the players.
Water
Water is extremely effective of stopping radio signals.
The human body is a sack of water. Kind of. So, if you have your phone in the back pocket of your jeans during play, it is harder for the radio signals from the ball to reach the phone, when you throw the ball to your friend. Especially when you throw long.
Grass also contains water. Grass is very effective stopping radio signals. Especially if both your phone lies in the grass, and a ball bounces on the grass. You can help by putting the phone a little above the grass, onto your loudspeaker, your jacket, or on a rock; just lifting it a bit above the grass.
