On the 1st versions of the console, the metallic spring that is in contact with the battery, can get bent during hard impacts.
Examples of such scenarios:
- if you try to throw as hard as you can, and the ball hits a wall,
- or if you try to throw as high as possible and the ball lands on a hard surface, such as asphalt
In these cases where the spring is bent, behavior can be that:
- the ball will pair with the phone,
- when throws, the throw is not detected.
The force in the throw is pressing on the battery, so that there is no longer contact between the battery and the battery connector.
How to solve this
This can be easily solved, in a way that makes the console very robust: you do not have to worry about being careful any longer: the console will never lose power again.
You need a small, flat screwdriver or similar.
Carefully, bend out the battery feather so that it is in a 90˚ angle, like described on the photo below.
Then insert the battery by sliding it underneath the feather. Now when you mount the lid, it will push the feather on top of the battery. This will create a very robust battery connection.
